Confidence of high purity and tolerability1,2

Rhophylac is manufactured to exacting standards, to minimise the risk of transmitting viral infections.1,2

  • Donor selection
Only healthy donors are selected and carefully screened.1
  • Testing for viral markers
Each donation of blood is tested for HBs antigen, HIV 1+2 antibodies, HCV antibodies and increased ALAT activity.11
  • PCR screening
For enveloped viruses (HIV, HBV and HCV) and non-enveloped viruses (HAV, parvovirus B19).1,11
  • Virus inactivation
Solvent/detergent treatment (S/D method) to destroy any viruses with a lipid envelope (e.g. HIV, HBV, and HCV).8−11
  • Virus elimination
Nanofiltration is used to filter out any viruses that may still be present.11
  • Quality assurance
The current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) programme ensures consistency in the collection, testing, processing and labelling of blood donations.
